Jalal Alawes
Associate Lawyer
Jalal is an Associate Lawyer with Q.E.D. Law. He is an alumnus of the University of Saskatchewan, having obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2014 and his Juris Doctorate in 2017.
Jalal gained his legal experience in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Southern Alberta. While Jalal has experience in Civil Litigation, including Employment Law and contract disputes, Jalal focuses on Family Law and Criminal Law. His primary interests are in child custody proceedings and representing youth in Criminal Court, as he believes the welfare of children is of paramount concern in legal matters.
Jalal has appeared at all levels of Court in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, with multiple appearances at the Court of Appeal. While Jalal recognizes that settlement is superior to litigation, he understands that sometimes, litigation is required, and he will advocate for change when it is necessary.
As an idealist, Jalal strives to ensure that the best possible solution is met for his clients, both inside and outside of the courtroom. Using empathy and tenacity, Jalal advocates fiercely for his clients. Always contemplating issues in his cases, Jalal strives to ensure his arguments are well thought-out, using both precedent and novel material to ensure success.
In his free time, Jalal can be found at the library, reading on the latest Family Law and Criminal Law issues. Jalal also loves to spend time in the mountains, hiking, or volunteering for the vulnerable who cannot afford legal services.
